This was the sky the day we drove home from San Jose.

"O Lord my God,

When I in awesome wonder

Consider all

The works Thy Hand hath made,

I see the stars,

I hear the mighty thunder,

Thy pow'r throughout

The universe displayed."

I found this on a Trader Joe's fan site.  It's really simple and yummy!  ENJOY!

Oatmeal Pumpkin Bars

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 Tbs Trader Joes Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 9oz jar Trader Joes Pumpkin butter
1 14oz sweetened condensed milk

Cream butter and sugar in medium bowl. Mix in flour, oats and spice. Butter or spray a 13 x 9 pan. Pat two thirds of the oat mixture into the pan. Set aside. In a small bowl, mix pumpkin butter and sweetened milk. Pour over the oat mixture. Cover the pumpkin mixture with the remainder of the oat mixture. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.

Today Jaden was working on his phonics sheet. There are pictures of various objects on it and he has to write the word for each object. He got to this picture and couldn't figure it out. So, being the good teacher that I am, I asked him first before giving him the answer. It went like this:

Amanda, "So, Jaden, what do you think it is?"
Jaden, "I don't know. I've been staring at it for along time."
Amanda, "Well, it has the letters 'oa' in the middle of it."
Jaden (dead seriously), "Mom, I don't know. Is it a bucket of poop?"
Amanda, "No, [stifle laughter] it's not a bucket of poop. It's coal."
Jaden, "Kindergarten is hard."
